A Brief of Gandaki Association of The Deaf (GAD-Pokhara)
Gandaki Association of the Deaf (GAD-Pokhara) was established in the year 1990. It’s office is situated in ward number-8, of Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City, Pokhara, Kaski Nepal. GAD is a non-profit making and non-governmental organization. It is registered under :A) Chief District Office, Kaski : 22/047 BS B) Social Welfare Council, Kathmandu : 473/048 BS. GAD has 144 General Members in total with an Executive Committee of 9 Members, invited member and advisers. It is purely an organization of the deaf and hard of hearing and operates under its own constitution approved through its general assembly. It has is own defined mission, vision and goals to fulfill the organizational objectives for the development and education of the Deaf. GAD Vice is also the founder member of theNational Federation of Deaf Nepal (NFDN) in Kathmandu. GAD’s Vice President is also the Member of National Federation of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (NFDN). Its former President, Rajendra Prasad Sharma also represents as the Member Council (MC) in the Secretariat of World Federation of the Deaf.
